How does the GIGA Card work?
The GIGA card is a limited edition prepaid card from Vodafone that offers a large amount of data at a great price. Additionally, we reward you for actively using the GIGA card, and with regular data package renewals, you get significantly more data for the same price.
Internet Connection
- The price for a 100GB monthly data package is 449 CZK. You start using it after your first internet connection, and it is valid for 30 days.
- If you use up the data before the 30 days are over, you will automatically receive an increased data volume of 150 GB for 449 CZK with a new 30-day validity.
- After the 30-day period expires, we will automatically renew your data upon your next internet connection. If you reconnect within 3 days of the previous package's expiration, you will receive 150 GB for the same price of 449 CZK. If you start using the connection later, you will get the basic 100 GB again.
Calls and SMS
- The basic rate for calls to Czech mobile and landline numbers is 4.50 CZK/min. SMS to Czech mobile numbers are sent for 1.90 CZK.
- We charge calls per minute (60+60.)
- The card will only work in the Czech Republic and does not support roaming services.
- You cannot activate other Vodafone add-on services, such as Prepaid Bundles, on the GIGA card.
My data package did not renew due to insufficient credit, can I still get 150 GB of data?
We anticipated this situation, so after the 30-day validity of the data package expires, we give you an additional 3 full days to top up your credit and connect to the internet. In this case, we will activate an increased data volume of 150 GB instead of 100 GB for the same price of 449 CZK.
Example 1: My data package expired on Monday at 3:00 PM. Due to low credit, it was not renewed, and my internet connection is currently not working. I have until Thursday at 11:59 PM (3 full calendar days) to top up my credit and connect to the internet. If I manage to do this, I will receive an increased data volume of 150 GB for the next month.
Example 2: The package is set to expire on Monday at 3:00 PM. However, I used up all the data by Friday, and since I didn't have enough credit for an early renewal, my internet connection is currently not working. I still have until Thursday at 11:59 PM (3 full calendar days) to top up my credit and connect to the internet. The fact that I used up the data before the 30 days expired does not matter in this case. If I manage to top up and connect to the internet, I will receive an increased data volume of 150 GB for the next month.
What internet speed will I get with the GIGA card?
You can always use the maximum possible speed. The connection speed depends solely on the capabilities of your device and the available coverage.
Can I pause using the data package and resume it later?
Yes, you don't have to use the data package continuously. If you don't have enough credit to renew the monthly package after the monthly period expires, your connection will not work, and you won't be charged any regular fee. When you want to use the GIGA card again, just top up enough credit and connect to the internet, and you will automatically get a new 100 GB for 449 CZK. Just be aware that the usual conditions for prepaid cards apply to the GIGA card as well, and if you don't top up your credit for more than 10 months, your number will be automatically canceled.
Can I use the GIGA card as an eSIM?
Yes, you can either get the card directly as an eSIM or easily arrange the transition to eSIM through My Vodafone.
