How do I set up a modem for DSL and Fibre Fixed Internet?

Have you bought a modem from us? Then it is enough to connect it according to the instructions, we have already set it up in advance. If you have your own modem, make sure it supports the appropriate technologies and adjust its settings according to the information below.

Modem settings for ADSL/VDSL technologies

  • ADSL/VDSL technology uses telephone lines to transmit data. You connect the xDSL-supporting modem to the telephone socket with a telephone cable with RJ-11 type connectors.
  • In the case of a modem for ADSL connection, the modem must support Annex B standard.
  • In the case of a modem for VDSL, the modem must support the speeds allowed by your Internet connection tariff. For the fastest VDSL with speeds up to 250 Mbit/s, the modem must support VDSL profile 35b (ITU G.993.2).

According to the manual for the modem, enter its administration and find the settings for xDSL. The following parameters must be entered for the modem to work properly:

Moderoutingrouting
Transfer Mode (protocol)PPPoEPPPoE

VCI (Virtual Circuit Identifier)48-

Setting up the modem for connecting via optical fibers

  • During installation, we set up an optical socket (you connect the fibre optic cable directly to the modem) - in this case, you need to use the modem supplied by us.
  • During installation, we set up an Ethernet socket (RJ-45) - you can use any router with an Ethernet interface, which you connect to the socket with a networking cable. The router must have support for PPPoE, NAT, and an RJ-45 input connector (WAN). When buying your own router, pay particular attention to the supported maximum speeds. If the modem only supports 100 Mbit/s for LAN ports and you have ordered a connection with speeds of up to 250 Mbit/s from us, for example, you will be able to use a maximum of 100 Mbit/s given the parameters of your router.

According to the instructions for the router, enter its administration and find the settings for WAN (broadband, broadband connection). If the router supports multiple broadband settings, add a new connection, if not, overwrite the current settings:
