Replacement of HD Mediabox is a change for the better

Set-top boxes on which you use advanced functions such as retrospective viewing, rewinding or recording, will be replaced by the technician with new set-top boxes for Vodafone TV, which can also perform all these functions.

If you used the Horizon GO TV viewing application, you will now use tv.vodafone.cz or the Vodafone TV application after transferring to Vodafone systems.

If you have the necessary sockets in the room, it is not a problem to relocate the set-top box.

However, it must remain connected to the modem with an Ethernet cable, which you normally get in a multi-metre version according to your needs, and the set-top box must also be connected with the coaxial cable.

Set-top boxes (or CA modules), on which you only watch live broadcasting without advanced functions (such as retrospective viewing or video library), will remain with you and you can continue to use them as you are used to. Nothing changes for you.

Before replacing the equipment, be sure to watch all the programs you have recorded on the existing set top box. They will no longer be available on the new one, but on the other hand, you will be able to watch those that you newly upload to the on-line storage on any device.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer recordings from an existing device via a USB drive or other device, or virtually via the cloud.

We will also transfer your registration to HBO GO to us. Your login details (e-mail) and password will remain the same.

1. Go to the hbogo.cz website or to the HBO Go app
2. Select Login
3. Select the Sign in with an operator option
4. In the drop-down menu, select Vodafone Česká republika
5. Continue by entering your email and password as before.

Please note: As part of the transfer of your registration to Vodafone systems, there may be a short-term outage of the HBO GO service. It will usually be back within a few hours, no later than the next day.

Yes, in most cases it is possible. Thanks to pairing, you can control your TV and set-top box with one remote control.

How to do the pairing?

1. Turn on the TV.
2. Press the yellow button on the remote control and the OK button simultaneously and hold them until the green LED light next to the On/Off button on the remote control flashes twice.
3. Then keep pressing the On/Off button until the TV turns off.
4. To check that the pairing has been successful, press the On/Off button again and the TV should turn on.

I am having trouble pairing the TV with the remote control

How do I deactivate pairing?

Press the blue button and the Menu button simultaneously (house icon for the premium set-top box) and hold them until the green LED light next to the On/Off button flashes twice on the remote control.

Then press the “9” button 4 times (the LED light on the remote control flashes each time the button is pressed and the last time the button is pressed, the LED light flashes 4 times in red to confirm that pairing has been deactivated).

Can I record from 2 channels at once while watching the retrospective view on a third one?

Yes, it is possible to record multiple programs at once and watch any other program at the same time. You can record either the current or future program.

How big is the storage?

Your storage capacity is 100 hours. Just be careful, the recording expires 90 days from the date of broadcast, even if there is enough free capacity.

What happens if I run out of capacity on the cloud?

After the capacity of 100 hours is filled up, the recordings with the oldest recording date will start to be deleted automatically. If you want to record a programme and the storage space is no longer sufficient, the TV will offer you the option to delete another recording to make room for the new one.

If you do not want to lose any of your recordings within 90 days, you can mark them as protected. Then they will not be deleted even if they are the oldest recordings.

You can easily play and manage all your recordings on any device (mobile/tablet) using the Vodafone TV application.

Unfortunately, the application does not work on smart TV yet, but we are already working on it, so you can look forward to it.

Unfortunately, the position of individual programs cannot be changed, but your favourite and most watched channels are displayed directly in the main menu, so you can access them quickly and easily.

Vodafone TV is a new generation digital television service, so it has left behind the tools of the previous generation. Today, teletext is only offered by Czech Television and is not available within Vodafone TV.

We will take care of it. Your current set-top box will be taken away by our technician and we will ensure its ecological disposal.

In the event that the device is changed, it is necessary to change the fixed IP settings accordingly in the self-service:

• The device can be a modem from us (if it is in ROUTER mode) or your own device, such as a router (if the modem from us is in BRIDGE mode).
• Each device has its own unique MAC address (usually listed on the device label as a WAN MAC).
• A paid fixed IP address is always linked to this WAN MAC.

As the device can be changed at virtually any time, it is possible to adjust the settings for each specific IP via the web self-service -> in the main menu, click on Internet in the list of services.

• Here you will find a section on fixed IP addresses. Clicking on a specific IP address will open a window for changing the MAC address -> in this field just copy (in the correct format) the WAN MAC from the label of the new device and confirm.
