Information on the processing of personal data within the Web selfcare and Application

Protecting your privacy is very important to Vodafone, which is why we take the utmost care to protect your privacy when using our Web selfcare and Application. In the following notice, we inform you in detail about the processing of personal data within the Web selfcare and the Application, but we also provide you with information about the options for setting up the sending of commercial communications from Vodafone at any time through the Web selfcare and the Application, or even choosing the option of whether you wish to have such commercial messages are tailor-made. Similarly, it is up to you to choose whether you wish to receive more favorable offers from our business partners.

This document contains information on specific processing within the Web selfcare and Application beyond the general processing of personal data. Detailed information on privacy protection and personal data processing, including information on how to exercise your rights, can be found here.

Consent management in the Application

You can manage your consents you have given or the sending of our commercial communications at any time through the Web selfcarein in the Basic account information section and through the Application in the Personal data section.

a) Sending commercial communications to Vodafone;

b) Sending favorable offers from our business partners (so-called commercial communications from third parties), based on the granting or withdrawal of consent;

c) Creation of "tailor-made" business communications from Vodafone, i.e. based on your consent to the processing of traffic and location data. If you give us this consent, we will prepare an offer that best suits your needs and use of our services.

Offers for you and news from Vodafone

The following messages are displayed or may be displayed in our Web selfcare and Application:

a) My offers – these are commercial communications from Vodafone or our partners. Whether you wish to receive these communications, and possibly in what form, is always up to you, as described in more detail in the previous paragraph;

b) Messages from Vodafone - these messages do not have the character of commercial communications according to applicable legislation. The purpose of these messages is not to offer you services or products, but to inform you about matters related to the provision of our services. An example is a information that there are temporary problems with the mobile signal in a certain area, etc.

Processing of additional personal data from Web selfcare or Application

In addition to the personal data that we process about you in general, which we inform you about in detail here, in case that you decide to use the option in our Web selfcare and the Application to add a nickname or name to your individual phone numbers, this data will be processed as in the Application or Web selfcare, as well as in our other customer systems. However, this data is not processed by us for any other purposes.

Processing of location data in the Application

If you enable the Application in the settings of your device to access location services, we will be able to provide you, for example, information about the nearest Vodafone store within this application. In such a case, the recorded location is processed only in the Application within the device and this information about the location of the device in which the Application is installed is not further processed.  Exception to the above is the processing of localization data within the NetPerform analytical tool, which we inform you about below.

Processing of cookies in the Application

Depending on the consents you have given, the Application uses various types of cookies and other tools, such as the SDK (so-called Software Development Kit). We use these cookies and other tools to constantly improve your user experience with our Application. It is thanks to cookies that we can monitor the flawless operation of the Application, measure the number of Application users, prepare new versions of the Application or prepare a relevant marketing offer for you based on your behavior.

If you do not grant consent to the processing of cookies, we will only use strictly necessary cookies.

You can change the settings of your consent to the processing of cookies in the Application at any time in the settings of this Application in the Privacy section.

Please note that in order to set cookies in accordance with applicable legislation, you must have the current version of the Application installed.

Collection of application and network usage data and diagnostic data – NetPerform tool in the Application

If you give us your consent in the Application, the Application will be able to use the integrated analysis tool NetPerform. This tool allows us to constantly improve the functionality of our Application based on aggregated data and also gives us an overview of the use of our Application. If you give us your consent in the Application settings, we will use this tool to process the following information in an anonymized and aggregated form for a period of 14 months.

Below is a complete list of anonymized data processed by the NetPerform tool:

Network coverage

NetPerform collects statistics about the quality of your connection for phone calls. This allows us to diagnose connectivity or connection quality issues and improve our network in your area. We we will process:

  • the percentage of time your phone is on the network
  • Cell ID and the address of the telecommunications transmitters in use and the way you move between them when your phone is active and only if you enable the use of location services by our Application in the settings of your phone device.
  • signal strength
  • areas with limited or no service
  • coverage quality (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G)
Internet connection

NetPerform collects statistics about your Internet connection or data coverage. This will allow us to diagnose problems and connection quality and improve the data network in your area. We we will process:

  • the results of a test to determine whether you can connect to the Internet. We perform this test at regular intervals, usually every 60 minutes.
  • upload and download speed
  • Cell ID and the address of the telecommunications transmitters in use and the way you move between them when your phone is active and only if you enable the use of location services by our Application in the settings of your phone device.
  • signal strength
  • areas with limited or no service
  • coverage quality (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G)
  • how long it takes to establish an Internet connection
  • Wi-Fi connection quality
  • MAC addresses of Wi-Fi hotspots that your device sees and their congestion
Call quality and usage

The success of your call can be diagnosed using technical data about the network, coverage or signal quality of the phone during the call. This helps us improve all aspects of your call. We will process:

  • Cell ID and the address of the telecommunications transmitters in use and the way you move between them when your phone is active and only if you enable the use of location services by our Application in the settings of your phone device.
  • signal strength
  • duration of the call
  • way to end the call
  • coverage quality (2G, 3G, 4G. 5G)
Use of data

In order to diagnose the overall internet data usage of different phone models, we record information about how much your device uses internet services and consumes data. This helps us improve data network efficiency for you and other customers based on actual data usage. We will process:

  • hourly data usage
  • how much data your phone uses when it's in standby mode
  • how much data it uses via Wi-Fi connection and how much via the mobile network.
Applications

To determine trends in data usage to help us allocate capacity for data-intensive apps in your area, we evaluate data usage by apps on your phone. We will process:

  • what applications you have installed on your phone
  • what applications are running each day
  • how long they are used
  • how much data and how fast individual applications receive and send.
Device information

In order to evaluate the performance of various devices on our network, diagnose phone-related issues, and diagnose the overall health of your phone, we will process:

  • phone brand and model
  • IMEI number, encrypted and masked so that it cannot be identified and is anonymous
  • operating system
  • firmware version
  • hardware capabilities
  • language and local environment
  • battery status
  • memory consumption
  • time since last reboot.
Location

If you enable the use of location services by our Application in the settings of your telephone device,

we will process your approximate location based on the cell ID and information about the location of the Wi-Fi tower or hotspot that the phone is using. If your phone or any of the apps use GPS location data, we use it to more accurately evaluate location and sometimes speed if GPS information is available. This allows us to identify areas of poor coverage and determine if poor performance may be due to movement. This information will be used to improve poor performance for you and other customers.

Anonymization

For the purposes of the Netperform tool, we do not process any personal data that could be used to identify a specific user. All processed data are intentionally anonymized before being sent to Vodafone.

  • This tool does not process your phone number.
  • This tool does not process the numbers you have been in contact with.
  • This tool does not process any content of your Communication.
  • This tool does not process the content, sender or recipient information of text messages on your device.
  • This tool does not process the names of used Wi-Fi hotspots.
  • This tool does not process information about a specific IMEI phone, the information is only processed in a hashed form.
